Kia ora Greenhithe

We had a great month in October with only a small amount of dishonesty crime reported (theft from cars and burglary). This good result is thanks to a combined community effort. But of course, every crime in unacceptable and caused those victims to suffer. Please don’t leave valuables in your car. If you or your family own a vehicle that is desirable and easy to steal and gets parked on the street how about investing in a wheel lock?

With senior schools and university out we always get an increase in disorder in the usual teen gathering spots. Bottles, food rubbish and drug paraphernalia get dumped for residents to deal with. Please if your teens are “hanging out with mates” give them a friendly reminder of acceptable behaviour. No one should be hanging around in the school grounds after hours.

Domestic violence is a crime.

With holidays just around the corner and residents heading to the beach please remember to secure your home and let your friendly neighbours know your plans. There are numerous tips online for home security over the holiday break.

Police contacts: Text *555 to report a road a road incident or unsafe driver. Call 105 to report a crime that has occurred. Call 111 for an emergency.
