Loving Our Greenhithe Reserves
It is wonderful to see our community working together in our local reserves. Here are some pictures of the Chinese Conservation Education Trust working in Outlook Reserve. And Kaipatiki Trust working in Wainoni Park.
It has been inspiring to hear stories of Greenhithe people making a very positive difference for nature in their back yard and street.
Pete from Pounamu Ave started setting his possum trap. Over the next 3 months with a single trap he caught 25 possums. Now the ponga are green again. Great job Pete!
Jeremy from Rame Road was caught in action as he was clearing bottles and plastics off Rahui Beach. He and a neighbour have arranged two red tin buckets to stay on the beach for people to put their recyclables into. He empties the tins into his recyclable bin regularly. Great job Jeremy!
The local Pippins had a clean up day. WELL DONE PIPPINS!
A family spent half a day removing decades of rubbish from Outlook Reserve. Here is their trailer piled with 425 kg of scrap metal WELL DONE GUYS!
